New family member // Ramboline Elephant
This is Ramboline - the newest member of the OYOY family. Ramboline is a happy elephant who, together with the baby elephant, Henry, loves to have fun with their friends.
Ramboline is named after an elephant that the Danes love very much and which for a number of years was part of the herd of animals in a Danish circus. Here Ramboline lived side by side with the camel Ali. Ramboline and the camel parted when Ramboline was retiring. Now the time had come for her to enjoy her retirement in Europe's largest elephant facility in Knuthenborg Safari Park.
In the park, Ramboline lives with three other former circus elephants, and enjoys her elephant life on the Elephant Plain.
We are proud that Denmark is a country that takes animal welfare seriously and makes initiatives like this with maximum focus on the animals' natural behaviour. Camels and elephants do not live together in the wild but live naturally in environments with others of their own kind.
The camel Ali has since also got a new home, where he enjoys his well-deserved retirement together with other camels. But who knows, maybe the camel Ali will also become part of the OYOY family in the future so that Ramboline and the camel can meet again?
